The Philippines can now export canned pineapples duty-free to Australia after the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission made a final decision to discontinue the anti-dumping (AD) measures currently applying to consumer and food service industrial (FSI) pineapple exported from the Philippines to Australia.

The said measures will expire on 17 October 2021 for consumer pineapple and on 13 November 2021 for FSI pineapple. The rates of the AD duties that will soon expire are 5.9% for Dole Philippines and 22.9% for all other exporters for consumer pineapple. On the other hand, the AD duties for pineapple products for FSI is 18.7%.

The Department of Trade and Industry requested the termination of the anti-dumping measure during the 2nd PH-AU Trade and Investment Dialogue (PATIID) on 20 April 2021 and again during the 5th PH-AU Ministerial Meeting (PAMM) on 23 August 2021. ♦
