Despite the work disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Fertilizer and Pesticides Authority-Laboratory Services Division (FPA-LSD) remained dedicated to providing the best laboratory services possible.

The DTI-Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) formally granted the FPA-LSD continuing accreditation in the field of Chemical Testing based on ISO/IEC 17025:2017 on December 14, 2021, during the organization’s year-end assessment event.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is an international standard for testing and calibration laboratories that outlines the general requirements for laboratory competence, impartiality, and consistency. It applies to all organizations and institutions that perform laboratory activities.

FPA’s standard-setting and regulatory duties are supported by the Laboratory Services Division (LSD). LSD verifies that fertilizer and pesticide products that are being registered adhere to all applicable norms and regulations.

Agricultural products and materials, as well as fertilizers and liming agents, are covered by FPA-LSD accreditation. Their accreditation demonstrates that they have a sound management system in place and are capable of providing accurate test results.
