The ISO/IEC 17025 and its Importance

The ISO/IEC 17025 is an internationally recognized standard that specifies the general requirements for laboratories performing tests or calibrations. This standard is used by laboratories in the development of quality, administrative, and technical systems that govern operations. It is also used by laboratory clients, regulatory authorities, and accreditation bodies to validate or acknowledge laboratory competence.

Following the standard’s requirements is a great way to improve operational efficiency and productivity. You can ensure that your laboratory’s process is generating the most accurate results in the most efficient manner by continuously evaluating staff procedures, methods, and equipment. By closely following the standard’s procedures as well as setting out clearly defined staff roles and greater accountability, you can be sure of a more reliable laboratory environment.

With its global recognition, ISO/IEC 17025 gives you an advantage over international competition and tendering opportunities.
