On December 13, 2017, PAB formally awarded the accreditation certificate to Davao City Water District Calibration Laboratory. It was granted on October 26, 2017, less than a year from application. The accreditation was conferred after the laboratory was found out to be conformant with the management and technical requirements of PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and the PAB conditions for laboratory accreditation in the field of calibration.

The certificate of accreditation (LA-2017-310A) is valid until October 25, 2022 subject to surveillance visits and renewal upon expiration. The laboratory’s accreditation on ISO/IEC 17025:2005 validates the
veracity of data registered in the water meter during consumption, which serves as the basis for consumers’ monthly bill.

DCWD is located at Km. 07 Davao City Water District, Bangkal, Davao City and is considered to be the first ever local water district in the Philippines to have obtained this accreditation.
