ISO/IEC 17025:2017 specifies the general requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of testing and calibration laboratories. The standard is the international reference for testing and calibration laboratories to demonstrate their capacity to deliver reliable results. The standard is also useful to universities, research centers, governments, regulators, inspection bodies, product certification organizations and other conformity assessment bodies which conduct testing, sampling or calibration.

The US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) through the Biological Threat Reduction Program (BTRP) is currently engaged with Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Animal Industry in conducting this training aimed at enhancing knowledge, skills and tool set required for sustainable laboratory management for regional and veterinary testing management.

The Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory is a government laboratory that provides services to support animal health and production, regulation, research and surveillance. They provide prompt and accurate diagnosis of major diseases of poultry, livestock and pet animals as basis for the recommendation of treatment, control and prevention of diseases.

The Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB), the national accreditation body of the Philippines, conducts briefing sessions or orientation for organizations which need information on accreditation and PAB services and certain international standards.
