The Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory held its awarding ceremony for accreditation of its DNA Analysis Branch to PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2005 during the celebration of
Its 73rd Founding Anniversary on June 08, 2018 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center, National Headquarters Camp Crame in Quezon City. The theme for the event is “Serving the People through Modern Forensic Technologies for Truth and Justice”, PAB Laboratory Accreditation Chief, Ms.Perla F. Baje, awarded the PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certificate of accreditation to PNP Crime Laboratory represented by PNP Deputy Chief for Administration Police Deputy Director General Ramon C. Apolinario.
The laboratory was found to be compliant to the international standard requirements in the field of Forensic Science. The certificate was issued on November 08, 2017 and is valid until November 07, 2022 subject to continuing conformity with the criteria and PAB conditions for accreditation.
The PNP DNA Analysis Branch Crime Laboratory provides quality scientific investigation services and other technical support to the PNP offices and other agencies through fieldwork, scene of crime operations, forensic laboratory service, criminalistics training and research to attain justice.
Philippine National Police DNA Analysis Branch Crime Laboratory joins the roster of the accredited laboratories of PAB. As of April 2018, DTI PAB has accredited a total of 247 conformity assessment bodies (CABs) that include 186 testing laboratories, 47 calibration laboratories, 7 medical laboratories, 7 inspection bodies and 14 certification bodies.
