DTI-MIMAROPA Summary of Programs and Projects

 

SHARED SERVICE FACILITIES (SSF)

SSF Project is one of the government’s strategies to achieve its goal of inclusive growth and jobs generation. It is specifically aimed at increasing the productivity and improving the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the priority industry clusters by providing them with machinery, equipment, tools, systems, accessories and other auxiliary items under a shared system.

ONE TOWN, ONE PRODUCT (OTOP) PHILIPPINES

The program enables localities and communities to determine, develop, support, and promote products or services that are rooted in its local culture, community resource, creativity, connection, and competitive advantage.

REGIONAL INTEGRATED PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE (RIPDA)

RIPDA (Regional Integrated Product Development Assistance) is a product development activity initiated by the DTI Regional Office of MIMAROPA that aims to develop products in terms of packaging, labelling, or new product design to be more market competitive and appealing.

KAPATID MENTOR ME

The Mentor Me Program aims to help MSMEs scale up their businesses thru the weekly coaching and mentoring by business owners and practitioners on different functional areas of entrepreneurship. This will be held in Negosyo Centers nationwide.

NEGOSYO CENTER

The Negosyo Center is responsible for promoting “ease of doing business and facilitating access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction”, such as: business registration assistance, business advisory services, business information and advocacy and monitoring and evaluation.

INDUSTRY CLUSTERING

The Development and Promotion of Industry Clusters are identified as a major strategy under the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016 in helping achieve its vision of a globally-competitive and innovative industry and services sector that contributes significantly to inclusive growth and employment generation. It supports the President’s social contract particularly in the creation of conditions conducive to the growth and competitiveness of private business, big, medium and small.

LIVELIHOOD SEEDING PROGRAM-NEGOSYO SERBISYO SA BARANGAY

A program of DTI that allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through the provision of livelihood starter kits.

LIVELIHOOD SEEDING PROGRAM-PANGKABUHAYAN SA PAGBANGON AT GINHAWA PROGRAM

DTI aims to provide assistance package for victims of fire, typhoons, and other calamities nationwide.

COMPREHENSIVE AGRARIAN REFORM PROGRAM

The program is in support of the government’s thrust towards the economic development of the countryside through rural industrialization. It has the following objectives:

  • Tap the manpower of farmer – beneficiaries and their immediate families for MSME development, thereby increasing their household incomes and stimulating industrial activity in their communities; and
  • To harness the landowners’ land compensation toward investments in viable agro-industrial projects in their respective communities

MIMAROPA DIGITALLY

“MIMAROPA Digitally” is a sub brand of MIMAROPA Naturally, that aims to create a digital ecosystem within the destination of choice. This campaign is composed of series of activities set by DTI MIMAROPA to help all types of enterprises through established and safe digital platforms. 

INTERNATIONAL PROJECT GRANTS

  • Climate Resilient and Inclusive Green Growth for Poor Rural Communities: Accelerating Implementation in the Agriculture Value Chain (2020-2024):
    • This project aims to achieve the following: (1) Greater climate resilience of farmers, agribusiness, and vulnerable local communities achieved through the implementation of evidence-based climate policies in Oriental Mindoro; (2) Design, financing, and operationalization of micro-enterprises and a Provincial Agricultural Center (PAC) in Oriental Mindoro; and (3) Improved capacity of government and non-government stakeholders to implement climate resilient, inclusive, and green agriculture value chain projects in the same province.
  • 2022 IP Sharing Project in the Philippines (Calamansi Project):
    • The Matulatula Agrarian Reform Community Cooperative (MARCCO), a calamansi processing cooperative in Pola, Oriental Mindoro, was awarded an international grant from the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA). KIPA is a global IP public institution that promotes creativity and enhances the value of invention. The IP Sharing Project aims to solve everyday problems using patent information with the appropriate technology. With Korea’s experience and know-how in utilizing IP to boost economic growth, KIPA hopes to help developing countries with their IP capabilities. The grant includes appropriate technology equipment and branding development all the way from South Korea. Moreover, this is exclusive to three countries, and MARCCO is the sole awardee from the Philippines.
