Celebrating 125 years of Philippine Independence with the theme Freedom, Future, History, we at the Department of Trade and Industry stand alongside every Filipino in honoring the bravery of our historic and modern heroes.
The economic resurgence we have achieved coming out of the pandemic, with a record-breaking 7.6% GDP growth in 2022, was fueled by everyday heroes, from our healthcare and overseas workers to our industries, particularly the small businesses—the economic backbone of our nation. With their continuing endeavors, we are confident that this growth trajectory will continue in the coming years and soon make us an upper-middle-income country.
The determination and perseverance of our modern-day heroes have kept our economy alive and enabled us to build back better and stronger. They are the foundations of our economy and continue to serve as mechanisms for us to showcase our potential to the world.
Remember, as Filipinos, our unity and collective efforts are crucial in building our nation. No government can do it alone. It is through our teamwork that we progress towards a matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay para sa lahat.
