In an effort to promote online shopping in the country, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) together with e-commerce players and digital industry leaders are supporting the Pinoy Cyber Sale weekend from November 25-28, 2016.

Dubbed as the US’ local version of Black Friday weekend, the Pinoy Cyber Sale is on its second run, a unified online sale event where ten e-commerce players in the country will be showcasing attractive deals and discounts, in time for the holiday shopping rush. Participating websites include merchants in fashion, retail, electronics and gadgets, beauty products, handmade goods, services and more. Last year’s Pinoy Cyber Sale was a success with etailers reporting significant increase in profit and site traffic, driven by massive promotion and curated offers.

Pinoy Cyber Sale 2016

This year’s event puts the spotlight on All Pinoy, a section of the Pinoy Cyber Sale website where a wide range of locally-produced merchandise from select regions in the Philippines will be sold through Mimaropa Ventures and One Store. This industry initiative is to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to recognize their e-commerce potential and reach a wide customer base in the most effortless way possible with the help of DTI and initiative partners. From local delicacies, handicrafts, services to furniture, the wide range of All Pinoy products is a shoo-in for your Christmas gift list this year.

DTI, which has been instrumental in raising awareness and supporting the initiative since its inception last year, also expresses great excitement in the potential of leveraging e-commerce as a major growth platform to MSMEs. Secretary Ramon M. Lopez said that “The Pinoy Cyber Sale helps promote local enterprises in expanding their product distribution and market reach.” He added that “We are envisioning that the initiative will play a pivotal role in making the Philippines as one of the strongest e-markets in Southeast Asia.” The launch of All Pinoy this year cements the role of MSMEs in sustaining the country’s economic growth.

The Pinoy Cyber Sale initiative is in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Digital Commerce Association of the Philippines (DCOM), Viber, and is co-presented by Globe myBusiness and GCash.
