P51-B Energy projects to supply 600 MW in Luzon and Mindanao


The Board of Investments (BOI) recently approved the projects of San Miguel Consolidated Power Corporation (SMCPC) and SMC Consolidated Power Corporation as new operators of 300 megawatts (MW) each of coal-fired power plants located in Davao del Sur and Bataan respectively.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory L. Domingo left last June 10 for the US, joining the rest of the ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM). From June 10-13, the AEM will visit Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, and Washington, D.C. to meet with major US business leaders and key government officials to increase awareness of ASEAN's strategic position as a trade and investment destination.
