The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Region 10 marked a historic milestone in Northern Mindanao’s business and tourism landscape with the inauguration of the OTOP-Go Lokal! Store in Laguindingan Airport. 

The grand opening of the store was made possible through the partnership between the DTI Region 10, DTI- Misamis Oriental, Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP), and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines-Area Center X. The initiative received invaluable support from the Province of Misamis Oriental and the Local Government Unit of Laguindingan. 

The OTOP-Go Lokal! store, operated by Mr. Melvin Fabello of MC Food Trading, proudly showcases products from 33 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental.  

Among the notable Go Lokal! products that tourists can find at the store are chicharon from Slers Industries Inc., handmade paper items from Salay Handmade Products Industries Inc., unique souvenir items from Chris Gomez Creative Designs, brownie treats from Bite Me Up Food Corp., stationery and home products from Oro Handmade Innovations Inc., Abaca-fiber bags from Puyo Handicrafts, and sweet snacks from Hinam-is & Cagayan de Oro’s Delights. 

The event was graced by special guests including Mayor Diosdado T. Obsioma of Laguindingan, Councilor Reggie Punong Bayan of Iligan City, Regional Director Marie Elaine S. Unchuan of the Department of Tourism – Region 10, and Director Marievic M. Bonoan of the DTI- Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion. The event was organized by Regional Director Ermedio J. Abang of DTI Region 10 and Provincial Director Almer R. Masillones of DTI Misamis Oriental. 

The OTOP Go Lokal! Store at Laguindingan Airport not only stands as a testament to the region’s vibrant entrepreneurial spirit but also serves as a gateway for travelers to experience the diverse and exceptional products crafted by local communities in Northern Mindanao. ♦
