PANGIL, LAGUNA — The Department of Trade and Industry Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) held its 7th ‘Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa’ (PPG) awarding and livelihood kit distribution on September 23, 2020. The beneficiaries are 15 pandemic-affected business owners from Barangay Galalan, Pangil, Laguna.

Each beneficiary received livelihood package amounting to no less than five thousand pesos. The livelihood packages include grocery items for sari-sari stores and eateries, frozen goods for trading, and raw materials and tools for handicraft-making.

DTI-Laguna Provincial Director Susan R. Palo and Pangil Vice Mayor Divine Grace G. Astoveza led the awarding ceremony.

In her message, Vice Mayor Astoveza hopes that the beneficiaries would take their businesses up according to name of the program per se. “Sana po ay maisabuhay na’tin ang layunin ng programang ito na [ang] pangkabuhayan ay para sa ating pagbangon tungo sa ginhawa (I am hoping that [we] would be able to live on the program’s objective to have provided livelihood assistance for business replenishments towards growth and ease of living)”, she said.

The PPG Program is a livelihood seeding program which aims to assist individuals or families affected by natural calamities and man-made incidents. DTI-Laguna PPG has already distributed kits to selected beneficiaries from small communes in Pakil, Liliw, Paete, Sinilioan, San Pedro City, Biñan City, Calamba City, and Cabuyao City. There are two more scheduled runs this September to early October. ♦
