DTI-Apayao in partnership with LGU-Flora awarded 25 Livelihood Kits to the selected NSB beneficiaries from the six barangays of the municipality: Poblacion East, Poblacion West, Balluyan, Sta. Maria, Bagutong and Malubibit Norte.

The Department of Trade and Industry Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR) commenced its awarding of livelihood seeding kits under the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay program, or NSB, this second quarter after its profiling activities conducted on the first quarter of 2021.

Livelihood seeding kits such as sari-sari store package, furniture kit package, agri-business, barbecue stand package, processed food package, panciteria, native delicacies, food house package, empanadita package, weaving package, banana chips package, construction materials package, motorcycle shop package, blacksmith kit, poultry/piggery package, wine processing equipment, and coffee grinder equipment were awarded since the start of the year. To enhance the level of entrepreneurship of the beneficiaries, Business Expense Savings Training (BEST) Games are also conducted by DTI officials together with business counselors from DTI Negosyo Centers after the awarding of kits.

The NSB under the Livelihood Seeding Program (LSP) of DTI aims to help the micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) affected by insurgencies and natural or man-made calamities especially those from barangays covered by the government’s End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) program and those severely affected by the pandemic. It is a program that puts focus on boosting the livelihood and business environment in the far-flung barangays of the region. Livelihood seeding kits, capacity-building, and business cliniquing activities are given to chosen beneficiaries profiled and validated by DTI and concerned local government units. A total of 219 livelihood kits have been awarded to various beneficiaries from the 172 barangays of the region as of 11 May 2021. A total of 5,841 individuals and 1,816 MSMEs have also benefitted from the 499 Negosyo cliniquing activities and entrepreneurship seminars conducted since January 2021.♦
