DTI-CAR conducted monitoring and enforcement activities in Various Areas of the Region

To ensure that consumers get the best value of their money, DTI-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) conducted monitoring and enforcement activities in the key areas Conner (Apayao), Hingyon (Ifugao), Baguio City and La Trinidad (Benguet) from 17 – 19 May 2022.

Said activities are pursuant to the continuous efforts of the Department to make certain that establishments selling products covered under technical regulations such as steel bars, wiring, electrical, and other construction materials, are compliant with the prescribed standards and certification requirements. Further, the conduct of routine price and supply monitoring assures that basic necessities and prime commodities are reasonably valued and that supply level is sufficient.

A total of 35 establishments were monitored which resulted to the issuance of one (1) Notice of Violation.

As a consumer tip, consumers are prompted to use the DTI Suggested Retail Price (SRP) as “Gabay When You Buy” basic necessity and prime commodities. The 11 May 2022 suggested retail price (SRP) list can be accessed thru this link https://www.dti.gov.ph/konsyumer/e-presyo/.

The consuming public is further reminded to be vigilant and patronize certified quality and safe products.
