The Department of Trade and Industry Ifugao (DTI-Ifugao), headed by Provincial Director Lino D. Cungihan, bestowed three Bagwis Awards to a Silver awardee and two Bronze awardees from the province of Ifugao on 17 May 2021 at the DTI Conference Hall.

In his remarks, Provincial Director Cungihan congratulated the awardees on their achievement and encouraged them to level up on the next Bagwis Awards.

The DTI Bagwis Award recognizes establishments that uphold the rights and welfare of consumers while practicing responsible and ethical businesses where consumers get the best value for their money. The Bagwis Seal also helps consumers identify stores that offer quality goods at a reasonable price and provide pleasing service, enabling them to make wise buying choices and get the best value for their money.

The DTI Bagwis has three levels – Bronze, Silver, and Gold, which shall be valid for three years from the date of conferment.  To qualify for a Bronze award, the business must be compliant with Fair Trade Laws with Consumer Welfare Desk (CWD) or an equivalent customer relations office in place. Silver Award requires the same as the Bronze award in addition to Social Responsibility requirements. Lastly, the Gold level awards both the requirements of both levels in addition to elements aligned to ISO 9001.

All retail establishments like supermarkets, department stores, specialty stores, appliance centers, hardware stores, and DTI-accredited service and repair shops can join the Bagwis Awards.♦
