BAGUIO-BENGUET — The Department of Trade and Industry Baguio-Benguet Office, in collaboration with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce, Inc. Human Resource Development Foundation (PCCI-HRDFI) and the Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board-CAR (RTWPB) conducted an In-House Trainers Training for 14 MSMEs under the agri-business sector. The training aimed to capacitate a company on how to select and hire the needed qualified and skilled workforce thereby increasing productivity and efficiency.  It was structured in such a way that the participants will be competent to play a key role in the HR Development of their company using the curriculum, standards, and materials provided. Further, it aimed to increase the productivity and efficiency of new employees.

In-Company Trainers-Training Program: Upskilling our MSMEs

The participants were given two weeks to accomplish the online E-learning modules which contain necessary deliverables for the face-to-face sessions.  Mr. Arrish Altavano, Senior Master Trainer for In-Company Training in the Philippines and Competency Assessor in the ASEAN Region, facilitated the first three days of online training from February 13-15, 2023. This was followed by a face-to-face session on February 16, 2023, at the Um-a Farm, Tuba, Benguet.

Atty. Myrene Besleng of the RTWPB also discussed the 7’s of Good Housekeeping and the other programs of the Board. She assured the continued partnership of MSMEs with the agency.

The participants then underwent a written examination and a one-on-one micro-training demonstration on the proper implementation of the training methods. The Executive Director of PCCI, Mr. Marlon P. Miña, and the Program Managers, Mr. John Roy Abenaza and Ms. Melissa Quino, as assessors, conducted a 15-minute Q&A to evaluate the participants.

Upon the recommendations of the assessors, all the participants were conferred with certificates of participation and completion. The certificate is recognized by the PCCI and by the ASEAN Region.
