Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Agusan del Norte organized the third installment of TuoNegosyo, a three-month-long bootcamp for existing and aspiring youth entrepreneurs working to create sustainable businesses that challenge the norms.

With the Youth Entrepreneurship Program and the Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte through Agusan UP, DTI aims to empower youthpreneurs with knowledge and tools from the industry and the government.

“This program will strengthen the entrepreneurial mindset, drive, and skills of the youth sector in the province despite the hurdles brought about by COVID-19 and the recent TS Odette that ravaged the region,” said DTI Agusan del Norte OIC-Provincial Director Lorijane Sacote.

Participants must be a team of three youth members (18-30 years old) who are all residents of Agusan del Norte, and are current or aspiring entrepreneurs.

“To register, they must submit a business plan that adds value to existing products or service innovation in line with the province’s economic agenda or priority industry clusters,” Sacote said.

These priority industries are abaca, aquamarine, banana, cacao, cassava, coconut, coffee, mango, rubber, and wood. The top 3 youth participants who prove to have the most sustainable business will receive seed funding.

“On top of the chance to win PHP50,000 in seed funding, participants will also learn business planning tools, mentoring & networking, best practices and case studies on business implementation. They will be introduced to private and government networks, as well,” Sacote added.

Only 10 qualified registrants will be able to join the bootcamp and competition which will run from April 2022 to June 2022. Registration remains open until 15 April 2022.
