NORTHERN MINDANAO – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 10, and Municipality of Kapatagan ink a tripartite Rural Agro-enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth (RAPID Growth) sub-project agreement for the improvement of La Libertad-Pulang Yuta-Calube-Tipolo access road in Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.
RAPID Growth Project aims to reduce poverty through sustained increased incomes of small farmers and unemployed rural women and men across selected agriculture-based value chains in selected provinces.
The tripartite sub-project agreement sets out the commitment of DTI-10, DILG-10, and Kapatagan in the planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of the farm to market road (FMR).
The FMR is under the farm-to-market infrastructure (FMI) sub-component of the RAPID Growth Project that mainly provides FMRs and appurtenant structures to secure farmers’ and MSME’s access to each other and to markets.
The rehabilitation or road improvement in Kapatagan will benefit 2,637 individuals from the five barangays within the Road Influence Area—barangays La Libertad, Pulang Yuta, Calube, Tipolo, and Capucao.
The agreement was signed by Kapatagan Mayor Barry Baguio, DTI-10 Regional Director Ermedio Abang, and DILG-10 Regional Director Wilhelm Suyko. The ceremonial signing was held in N Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City on July 26, 2023. ♦
