SABLAYAN, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) MIMAROPA Region published a price freeze bulletin on basic necessities due to the impact of Typhoon Egay in the municipality of Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro.
This directive is a result of Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 2023-GGM186 declaring a State of Calamity in the municipality, and pursuant to Section 6 of RA 7581 or the Price Act as amended.
Starting July 26, 2023, the prices of basic necessities are automatically frozen at their prevailing prices effective for the duration of the condition that brought about it but not more than 60 days.
Basic necessities under DTI’s jurisdiction include canned fish and other marine products, processed milk (evaporated, condensed and powdered milk), coffee, laundry/ detergent soap, candles, bread (tasty and pandesal), iodized salt, instant noodles, and bottled water.
Intensified price and supply monitoring is in progress to ensure that establishments adhere to the price freeze.
