The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) MIMAROPA joins the consumer sector in celebrating the 2022 World Consumer Rights Day to promote safe and efficient digital technologies for consumers.
With the theme “Fair Digital Finance”, this year’s global commemoration of consumer rights addresses the issues faced by consumers in digital finance. As the prime agency that protects consumers in the Philippines, DTI leads the activities in support of the global consumer movement. According to the Consumers International Organization, to achieve the vision of this year’s World Consumer Rights Day, digital financial services must be inclusive, safe, data protected and private, and sustainable.
In the MIMAROPA Region, DTI, through its Regional Office, Provincial Offices, and Negosyo Centers, conducted several activities concerning the celebration. Below are some of the activities scheduled for this year:

“We urge all consumers to become vigilant against scams, frauds, phishing, and data malpractices. Those who are found to be engaged in those practices will surely be held liable. Moreover, we in DTI MIMAROPA conduct continuous virtual information sessions and campaigns with reliable digital financial services to help the consumer sector.”
