The Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) formally selects the “Development of URARO Processing Equipment and Related Brands for Improving the Local Productivity (Uraro Starch Processing Container Hub)” Proposal of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) MIMAROPA to the 2021 International IP Sharing Project.
As part of the selection process, DTI MIMAROPA’s project proposal for the Bahi Agricultural and Fisheries Association or the Uraro Farmers of Gasan, Marinduque underwent thorough evaluation with specialists in the related field. This was followed by an intensive literate research and feasibility study to further identify the needs of the grantee. The project is set to begin late March of 2021.
Since 2019, KIPA has received a total of 49 proposals from 12 countries for the 2021 AT/OVOB project. DTI MIMAROPA has submitted 5 proposals to the project wherein three of these qualified during the pre-selection process. During the final selection, only three proposals from three different countries were selected, making the proposal for the Uraro Farmers in MIMAROPA the sole representative from the Philippines.
