A dairy cooperative from Bukidnon is aiming to boost the dairy industry of the province by prioritizing the acquisition of its FDA License to Operate to further access a bigger market.

Pangantucan – Maramag – Kalilangan Farmers Dairy Cooperative (PAMAKA FDC) envisions itself as the leading milk producer in Bukidnon by providing fresh and nutritious milk products to its consumers.

The cooperative is one of the two Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBO) engaged in the dairy industry that is being assisted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

It offers an array of dairy products such as fresh and flavored milk and milk bar’s in chocolate, melon, strawberry, mango, and classic flavors. The cow’s milk is freshly sourced from the farmer members who are agrarian reform beneficiaries.

PAMAKA FDC was organized in 2007 through the assistance of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). The organization has been engaged in milk processing since 2008 through the assistance and provision of milking cows by the National Dairy Authority (NDA).

As an additional support to its dairy production, PAMAKA was provided with a Form, Fill Seal Machine worth P1 million pesos under DTI’s Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Program.

Moreover, the cooperative was assisted by DTI in complying with the requirements for FDA-LTO application through various interventions including Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Orientation and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures Write Shop and consultancy services.

The milk products are currently available in nearby barangays and municipalities. Aside from the local consumers, PAMAKA also partnered with the Department of Education (DepED) under the Milk Feeding Program to provide nutritious fresh milk to young learners especially the undernourished children in public schools in the municipalities of Maramag, Pangantucan, Kalilangan and Talakag, Bukidnon.

With the application now lodged in FDA, PAMAKA is preparing to expand its local market. ♦
