A Philippine agribusiness company specializing in the sustainable growing, sourcing, and trading of high-quality agricultural crops such as fermented cacao beans has signed a commercial partnership agreement (CPA) with an Iligan City-based farmer organization.

Kennemer Foods International (KFI) reached an agreement with the Sta. Cruz Farmers Association (FA) as the consolidator for the supply of dried fermented cacao beans.

As a support to the CPA, four other farmer groups based in Rogongon, Iligan City signed a supply agreement with Sta. Cruz FA—Rogongon, Hanginan, Sumagaysay, and United Farmers Association.

The agreement will engage a total of  333 marginal farmers, 86 of whom are women and 68 are indigenous people (IPs).

The link between Kennemer and Sta. Cruz FA was facilitated by the Rural Agro-Enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth (RAPID Growth) project of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Lanao del Norte.♦
