CARP Business Continuity Training

KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO – In an effort to capacitate small businesses adjust to the new normal due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Trade and Industry 12 (DTI-12) through its Sarangani Provincial Office has provided a Business Continuity Plan Workshop to the officers and members of the Sapi Masla Taliawid Producers’ Cooperative (SMTPC) in the municipality of Malapatan.  

The intervention which was implemented through DTI’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (DTI-CARP) is part of the agency’s New Normal Plan to assist beneficiaries in identifying potential and on-going risks in their business, and help them develop strategic plans to recover and move forward.  

To ensure maximum participation of the coop’s officers and members, the DTI-CARP team has personally gone to the community last Sept 23. 

Sapi Masla Taljawid Producers’ Coop, a community enterprise with about 100 members, was organized by the residence of Malapatan in the province of Sarangani who are into farming rice, cacao, coconut and coffee. 

The CARP program of DTI provides comprehensive support services to landowners, farmers and their families who are covered as beneficiaries under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program anchored on the redistribution of public and private agricultural lands to farmers and farm workers who are landless under the R.A. 6657 or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law.  

Since 2015, DTI-12 has assisted a total of 132 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Beneficiary Organizations (ARBs/ARBOs) in Sarangani to which SMTPC is one of the ARBOs.♦
