KORONADAL, SOUTH COTABATO – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 12 through its Negosyo Centers joins the local government units and other government line agencies in Region 12 to streamline the issuance of business permits and licenses.

The month of January is one of the busiest months of the year among business owners as it marks the registration and renewal of their business permits and licenses.

To facilitate the ease of doing business, the local government units have set up the Business One-Stop Shops (BOSS) in their respective areas where application and renewal of business permits and licenses including  DTI’s business name registrations can be made in one area.

In Region 12, the LGU of the city of General Santos and the municipalities of Lebak and Columbio in the Province of Sultan Kudarat were among those who started the BOSS today, 4 January, the first Monday of the year.

Jude Constantine S. Jaugan, the regional director of DTI- Region 12, said that the 54 Negosyo Centers all over Region 12 are ready to cater to the needs of the business owners for their business permit and license application and renewal.

“All the Business Counsellors of our Negosyo Centers are ready to assist the business owners in their application and renewal of business names, as well as to provide free business consultations,” said Jaugan.

Under the RA 3883 or the Business Name Law, sole proprietor businesses must be registered with DTI.  This provides legal identity and protection to the public dealing with a business establishment through disclosure of the identity & citizenship of the person owning the business as well as other facts of records in DTI. ♦
