KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO– The Department of Trade and Industry Region 12 (DTI-Region 12) through its Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office intensifies efforts to enhance the productivity of its Shared Service Facilities (SSF) cooperators thru the conduct of a hybrid consultation-seminar on 27 April by hosting six physical attendees and 18 virtual participants via a virtual platform.

Target participants in the Productivity Enhancement Seminar were SSF cooperators and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who are recipients or potential users of the different SSFs in the province of Sultan Kudarat.

Currently, there are 40 SSF in the province ranging from food processing to homestyle and wearable production.

The primary objective in the conduct of the training is to reinforce and enhance the knowledge of SSF cooperators and other MSMEs in Sultan Kudarat on the techniques and practical insights regarding productivity especially during this trying time of the pandemic.

According to Felisa A. Sinobago, the Provincial Director of DTI-Sultan Kudarat, “The pandemic shouldn’t stand as a barrier for SSF cooperators to get themselves engaged productively.”

SSF is one of the programs of DTI aimed to improve competitiveness and innovative techniques of the MSMEs by providing machinery, equipment, tools, systems, accessories, and other auxiliary items, skills, and knowledge to increase production capacities and improve product quality under a shared system. In Sultan Kudarat, competitive industries with existing SSF are coffee processing, food processing of banana chips, kalamansi and kakani, and craft using bamboo and palm fronds.♦
