CAGAYAN VALLEY — To prepare MSMEs for cross-border expansion by continuously equipping them with knowledge on export requirements and e-commerce strategy, the Department of Trade and Industry Region 2, in partnership with DHL Express Philippines, a global logistics company and market leader, conducted an export webinar for MSMEs on 26 April 2023.


This activity, tagged “Going Cross-Border: How Can I Start?” was intended to help MSMEs be guided toward export directions and understand how to deliver goods globally more effectively with the aid of DHL Express Philippines.


The Chief of DTI-SME Development Division, Mr. Ramil Garcia, expressed the continuing commitment of the agency to upskill MSMEs and assist them in reaching the export market. “This will surely increase your knowledge toward digital transformation and help you harness technology’s power in your business operations. We hope that this webinar will equip you with the right tools to confidently start and navigate your export journey and conquer the export market soon or in the future,” said DC Garcia.


The participants were capacitated with the steps to make businesses click globally by formulating an e-commerce strategy, the benefits of e-commerce express, the items that can be shipped or are acceptable to cross the border, and the compliance requirements, which were tackled by the officers from DHL Express Philippines: Mr. Edwin Palermo, Area Sales Manager, and Ms. Amelita Saludares, Field Sales Executive.


More than 50 attendees, composed of MSMEs from Cagayan Valley, Trade Promotion Officers from DTI Region 2, and DHL Express representatives, participated in the activity.
