MOU signing among DTI R2, DOLE and RTWPB

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2, together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB), inked the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) expanding the incentives of the Bagwis Program, on 10 March 2022 at the NEDA Conference Room, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The MOU establishes a partnership among DTI, DOLE, and RTWPB to top up the incentives under the current DTI Bagwis Program. The parties undertake to stage joint capacity-building activities, prioritize awardees in various transactions and interventions, and come up with an additional tier of award called, “Labor-Friendly Bagwis Awardees”.

Prior to the signing, Atty. Cyrus I. Restauro, Consumer Protection Division (CPD) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Division Chief, discussed the rationale, context, and the benefits of the MOU, alongside the plans concerning future collaborative activities.

Assistant Regional Director (RD) Winston T. Singun represented Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo and DTI Region 2, while Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales represented DOLE and RTWPB during the ceremonial signing. Present also were RTWPB Region 2 Board Members.

The Bagwis Program is a DTI program that gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business where consumers get the best value for money.

With this partnership, Bagwis awardees will be further recognized and incentivized. ♦
