CAGAYAN VALLEY — Making her one of the 110 women ‘drivers of change’ in Cagayan Valley, Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo received the 2023 Philippine Information Agency Region 2’s IDDU Honor Roles Award yesterday at Hotel Casa Angela, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

RD Ocampo was spotlighted under the “Public Service” category for her exceptional contributions to public service, focused on implementing plans and strategies benefiting the Cagayan Valley Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and making the region’s exporting ventures go topnotch.

Her tireless efforts to promote economic development and job creation in the Cagayan Valley, which include a number of initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, empowering consumers, and improving local businesses and government units’ competitiveness, were successfully undertaken under her leadership, namely, Buy Local Advocacy, the Walang Sayang Project, the Youth Entrepreneurship Program focused on Indigenous Peoples, the Consumer Welfare Assistance Center, and more.

In her acceptance speech, RD Leah thanked PIA Region 2, the organizer of the IDDU Honor Roles Award for Women, for recognizing the importance of women in public service and highlighting the achievements of those who have dedicated their lives and careers to serving and inspiring the public to go limitless despite their gender. She dedicated her award to her family and the stakeholders of the agency and thanked her colleagues for helping her materialize her dreams for the business community in the region.

RD Leah’s receipt of the award is a testament to her outstanding leadership and her commitment to serving the people of Cagayan Valley. Her achievements are an inspiration to others who seek to make a positive difference in their communities, and she serves as a shining example of what can be accomplished through hard work, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to public service.
