In line with the advocacy and information dissemination of DTI’s programs and services, Shaira Anne Budoy, Business Counselor – Negosyo Center Tayabas City, attended the monthly meeting for the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC). She emphasized the process and importance of the Business Name Registration (BNR) process. Furthermore, she explained that there were two methods in applying for business name: online and walk-in process in any of the Negosyo Centers. She also asked assistance from the ABC secretary to distribute the BNRS flyer that the Barangay Captains may use to post in their respective barangays for encourage potential applicants.

Joining her in the meeting were Elsa L. Rubio, Philippine Chamber of Commerce, Inc. President (2016-2018), who discussed the mentoring advocacy of the chamber, its membership application for existing businesses, and its partnership with DTI; Edward Orge, P3 Representative, to explain the Bayanihan COVID-19 Assistance to Restart Enterprises (CARES) Program; and Marc Francis Bacierto, city manager of FoodPanda, who discussed the requirements on how to be a seller on the app. Bacierto also expounded on the importance of e-commerce for sellers to have a competitive edge and a market amidst the ongoing pandemic. ♦
