The DTI Negosyo Center Candelaria, in partnership with the LGU Candelaria Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, successfully conducted a training seminar in Business Continuity Planning for MSMEs.
Business resilience and the concept of disaster risk reduction management were topics covered by the resource person, Mr. Ma-L B. Bustamante, head of the Candelaria Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. He added that the COVID-19 pandemic is considered a disaster that impacts micro, small, and medium enterprises the most. Following that, he encouraged participants who were business owners to share their experiences with Typhoon Paeng. Afterward, he offered advice on how to handle the circumstance. He also recommended staying updated on current news and adhering to authorities’ directives.
Additionally, Mr. Bustamante discussed the needs and process for creating a business continuity plan. He emphasized the BCP lifecycle’s specifics including analysis, solution design, implementation, testing, acceptance, and maintenance. ♦
