CALAMBA CITY, LAGUNA — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI Laguna), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Laguna – Youth Development Affairs Office (PGL YDAO), the Congressional Districts of Calamba City and 2nd District, the Local Government Unit of Calamba City, and the National University – Laguna (NU Laguna), has successfully conducted the YEP! You Can Be Your Own Boss Business Plan Presentation and Awarding Ceremony on August 7, 2023 at NU Laguna Auditorium, Calamba City.

After participating in the 2-day face-to-face training on YEP! You Can Be Your Own Boss held last August 2 and 3, 2023 at the Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Department Training Center, Calamba City, a total of 79 young aspiring and existing entrepreneurs from Bay, Los Baños, Calamba City, and Cabuyao City, Laguna, successfully presented their Business Plan and Business Model Canvas to distinguished panelists.

Upon completing the program, youth will be able to receive Php5,000 each from the offices of Cong. Ruth Hernandez and Cong. Cha Hernandez-Alcantara that will serve as their initial capital for their proposed business.

The top 3 best business plans from each town will receive cash prizes amounting to Php5,000 each from the Provincial Government of Laguna through the Laguna Youth Development Affairs Office.

Prior to the business plan presentation, Mr. Francis Emanuel Quintana, owner of IvorySpace Restaurant and Kurimi Milk Tea Bar – Calamba, shared his entrepreneurial journey to give inspiration to his fellow youth.

A ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding among DTI Laguna, NU Laguna, and LGU Calamba City also took place.

Nalin Alonzo expressed their messages of encouragement to the YEP! You Can Be Your Own Boss graduates.

Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez and Calamba City Mayor Roseller Rizal also extended their messages of congratulations through their representatives.
