Tayabas City joins and supports the celebration of Consumer Welfare Month, which is celebrated every October.

During the City Price Coordinating Council convening session which was 20 October 2021 at the Balilo Event Center, the following consumer welfare-related activities were conducted :

1. Consumer Advocacy Seminar on Price Tag Law facilitated by Ruel Y. Gabiola, Trade and Industry Development Specialist of DTI-Consumer Protection Division;

2. Launching of Bantay-I Presyo, an Facebook page portal connected to City Information and Community Relations Office (CICRO) and City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (CEDIPO) to post price list issuances from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agricultures (DA), Department of Health (DOH), and other agencies with jurisdiction to specific prime and basic commodities.

Seeing the need for consumer-related information advocacies such as the product standards to increase awareness, it was agreed that a webinar will be conducted for Tayabasin business and consumer sectors for pipeline within this month. It is proposed that this webinar will be a part of CPCC’s activity in support to the Consumer’s Welfare Month. ♦
