To enhance consciousness on sustainable consumption in the region’s academe, the Department of Trade and Industry Region 4-A CALABARZON, in partnership with Jollibee Foods Corporation, Department of Education, and Provincial Government of Cavite, conducted its annual Regional Tanghalang Pangmamimili on 07 November 2019 at the Cavite Provincial Gymnasium, Trece Martires City, Cavite.

Tanghalang Pangmamimili is a role-playing competition being participated by high school level students, both public and private, who will act out scenarios around a theme. The criteria for judging are relevance to the theme, coherence/comprehensive script, originality/creativity, audience engagement, and adherence to the rules.

This year’s competition is anchored on the theme, “Sustainable Consumption: Understanding the Impact of Consumers’ Choices in a Shared Environment.” It is inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals— a blueprint for a more prosperous and resilient world set by the United Nations as global goals for the period of 2015-2030.

The Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas Senior High School was declared Champion and received special awards such as Best Performer and Best Director. Felix Amante Senior High School (Laguna) got the 1st Runner-up Award, Congressional Integrated National High School (Cavite) as 2nd Runner-up, Regional Lead School for the Arts in Angono (Rizal) as 3rd Runner-up, and Maryhill College (Quezon) as 4th Runner-up.

“It is our commitment to conduct and advance the advocacy on sustainable consumption in the CALABARZON region. Through the Tanghalang Pangmamimili, we intend to help students understand the impact of their consumption in an engaging and creative way,” said DTI CALABARZON Director Marilou Q. Toledo.♦
