In the course of the current global crisis, there emerged an apparent need for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to redirect their perspective towards innovation and technology, business optimism, pliability and sustainability. Because of the irregular undercurrents of the pandemic, most business operations became immobile resulting to a sudden pause in the income generation. As a rejoinder to this issue, the Department of Trade and Industry – Batangas Provincial Office, in partnership with the Provincial SMED Council, held its first ever Batangas Entrepreneurial Virtual Summit last 20 October 2021. A total of 430 MSMEs joined in the plenary session and in the Facebook live, streamed by DTI Batangas.
In this entrepreneurial summit, the participants gained new knowledge on realigning to the new normal, immersing into advocacy building, and onboarding business digitalization. They developed creative ideas and concepts that will create additional value to their businesses. This became a springboard for the participants to be exposed in the world of innovation as a systematic approach to business strategy and development. Through the skills they have learned from this webinar, entrepreneurs can build sustainable and competitive advantages that they can utilize to level-up their business.
This conference succored to the incipient need of the MSMEs in terms of digitalization and investment in technology and innovation. Furthermore, through this virtual summit, the Batangas entrepreneurs had learned various strategies in maximizing the use of social media and were introduced with the concept of advocacy which they may incorporate with their respective businesses. The Batangas entrepreneurs were also kept abreast of the contemporary business trends and programs implemented by the different government agencies and sectors. All in all, the first Batangas Entrepreneurial Virtual Summit definitely aided the Batangas businessmen and women in navigating through the dynamics of the new normal. ♦
