DASMARIÑAS, CAVITE — To further strengthen information sharing and awareness, the Department of Trade and Industry – Cavite officially launched its breakthrough project, the e-Share Information, Gain Awareness (e-SIGAW) website, on June 23, 2023 via Zoom to 140 participants.

“Today, we realize another milestone through the e-SIGAW website. We now have finally and formally launched it—finally because after four years of developing and implementing the project and formally because we previously held a soft launching last February 9, 2023,” said DTI 4-A OIC-Assistant Regional Director Revelyn A. Cortez in her welcome message.

Cortez also highlighted the goal of DTI Cavite to extensively and efficiently promote DTI programs and services to the public. She expressed her gratitude to their partners and the De La Salle University-Dasmarinas in this breakthrough project.

Through the funding of the DTI-Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BSMED) in 2021, e-SIGAW serves as a platform for DTI Cavite to empower the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and consumers by sharing timely and relevant information for the development of businesses and protection of consumers. In 2022, the DTI Cavite was tasked a more extensive implementation of the e-SIGAW project with a focus on website development to provide organized and retrievable information for its clients.

“It gives me great joy to address this dynamic gathering today as we embark on an exciting journey into the realm of digital technology. This is truly a very remarkable initiative to bring our services to our countrymen, at the fingertips of our tech-savvy clients. Now, gone are the days of long lines, wait times, and tedious paper works, and through e-Sigaw website, we are ready to revolutionize the way we connect, engage, and empower our valued clients,” said DTI-BSMED OIC-Director Emma C. Asusano.

Called the e-SIGAW Website, the project is an internet site that features the following services and contents: e-ANGAT MSMEs, an online mentoring facility to provide MSMEs easy access to local mentors, private organizations, and government agencies for their business development and information needs; e-BIDA ang LOKAL, a business-to-business commerce site to promote the products of Cavite MSMEs, particularly those that have undergone product development through the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Next Generation Program; e-KONEK NEGOSYO, a directory of Cavite MSMEs, particularly beneficiaries of the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Program, Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) Program, and OTOP NextGen Program; e-TRAIN to LEARN, a calendar of activities and training to be conducted by DTI Cavite and access to e-learning materials; and e-CONSUMER CORNER, an information hub that features the programs and services offered by the DTI Cavite Consumer Protection Division, which include the Bagwis Program, Consumer Advocacy, accreditation and issuance of business licenses, permits, registration, and authorities, and monitoring and enforcement of Fair Trade Laws. Moreover, the e-CONSUMER CORNER serves as a gateway in airing consumer complaints and posting latest information about consumerism such as updated DTI-Department Administrative Orders/guidelines, Suggested Retail Prices, etc.

“I am very pleased to witness and be part of the launching of another breakthrough goal via e-SIGAW, and I am committing my full support to DTI Cavite for this project that is expected to level up their services to all the Cavitenos. Hopefully, this will be replicated soon in the entire CALABARZON,” said DTI Regional Operations Group Undersecretary Blesila A. Lantayona.

Lantayona hopes that this initiative will inspire other DTI offices nationwide to adopt the project in their respective regions and provinces. As DTI continues to scale up its digitalization efforts at the Head Office, Lantayona emphasized that the Regional Operations Group will ensure that the frontline offices in the regions and provinces are also into it to guarantee efficient delivery of services to both the MSMEs and the consumer sector.

“The e-Sigaw is truly a useful and informative website that is available to the public all day, all night, every day. This impressive portal that is worth broadcasting and boasting serves as a guide in doing business in Cavite as clients can immerse themselves and inquire about the many business opportunities in the province. This is also an invitation to do business as this will help in gaining strong partnership from businessmen not just in Cavite but hopefully nationwide as well,” said DTI-Knowledge Management and Information Services OIC-Director Alfonso M. Valenzuela.

Furthermore, Cavite Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs Alvin S. Mojica guaranteed their continuous and full support to the projects and programs of the DTI for the welfare of the Cavitenos.

“The shift to the ‘new normal’ increases the number of online users, including MSMEs and consumers. E-sigaw is our testament to our commitment to improve government service by streamlining and digitalizing processes and services in the DTI. Rest assured that we will not stop in providing our clients better programs and services like s-SIGAW,” said DTI 4-A OIC-Regional Director Marissa C. Argente.
