DTI-Quezon with Negosyo Center Tayabas and the city local government unit (LGU) of Tayabas thru City Planning and Development Coordinating Office (CPDC) conducted a two-day activity on business planning and manual of operations for Rural Improvement Club (RIC) and Katipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) group at the ABC Hall, Tayabas City.

This activity aims that these organizations will be entrep-ready in their own business setting.

The first day of activity tackled the Business Plan, an important tool for entrepreneurs to determine identify, describe and analyze a business opportunity and/or a business already under way, examining its technical, economic and financial feasibility.

Present during the workshop activity were: Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma of DTI-Quezon, and CPDC Head Necias Pataunia, who graced the first day of the event on behalf of Hon. Ernida Agpi Reynoso, City Mayor of Tayabas. The Business Plan Outline Presentation was discussed by Maria Edel L. Villadiego, business counselor (BC) of Negosyo Center Tayabas.

The workshop proper was conducted right after the discussion wherein the participants will revisit and revise their existing business plan.

The RIC and KALIPI group prepared their Manual of Operations on the second day of the workshop. This activity is the continuation of the workshop on business planning conducted yesterday facilitated by the DTI-Quezon with Negosyo Center Tayabas and the City Local Government Unit of Tayabas thru City Planning and Development Coordinating Office (CPDC).

The manual of operations workshop aims to help the organization prepare the documentation needed, in which an organization provides guidance for members and employees to perform their functions correctly and reasonably efficiently. It documents the approved standard procedures for performing operations safely to produce goods and provide services.

During the activity, the representative of each group presented their prepared business plan and manual of operations to the panel of evaluators, who were composed of the following: : (1) Gener B. Abordo, City Cooperatives Officer of Tayabas City Cooperative Development Office; (2) Mark Jay B. Sumilang, Licensing Officer IV of Business Permits and Licensing Office; (3) Elsa L. Rubio, former president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Tayabas City Chapter; and (4) Shaira Anne A. Budoy, Planning Officer I of City Planning Office. They were invited to evaluate and provide insights that can help the group to improve their operations systems as well as empower them as resilient and versatile entrepreneurs. ♦
