DTI Laguna monitoring of prices in a grocery

LAGUNA – Relative to the Proclamation No. 1143 declaring the entire country under the State of Calamity due to African Swine Flu (ASF), the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) continues its efforts through monitoring of prices, implementation of price freeze of basic necessities and issuance of Advisory to business establishments so as to ensure availability of supplies and affordability of prices in the province.

Pursuant to the Republic Act No. 7581 or the Price Act, prices of all basic necessities are automatically frozen at their prevailing prices for a period of sixty (60) days beginning 10 May 2021, unless earlier lifted or extended as circumstances may warrant.

As a result of monitoring, the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities in the province are still stable and are within the range of the Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs). A total of 37 establishments were monitored from the implementation of the price freeze on 10-19 May 2021.♦
