SANTA MARIA, LAGUNA — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) continues its provision of seminars/trainings in partnership with other government agencies.

On May 23, 2023, DTI-Laguna through its Negosyo Center in Santa Maria and in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Local Government Unit of Santa Maria conducted a seminar on Entrepreneurial Mindset and Setting Up a Business with Consumer Education, at 3F Integrated Municipal Building, Santa Maria, Laguna.

The program started with an opening prayer followed by the first topic which was discussed by the Negosyo Center Business Counselor assigned in Negosyo Center Pangil, Ms. Danica R. Briones. The participants were equipped with knowledge and information on consumer rights and responsibilities which should be practiced and exercised by every consumer. Briones also discussed entrepreneurial mindset to enlighten the attendees on the proper mindset and characteristics that an entrepreneur must possess. Afterwards, Mr. Nicols M. Consignado, Negosyo Center Business Counselor assigned in Negosyo Center Santa Maria, discussed about setting-up a business to guide the participants on the step-by-step process of starting a business as well as the necessary permits that they need to acquire.

A total of 59 beneficiaries of DSWD from Brgy. III (Pob.), Brgy. Adia, Brgy. Macasipac, and Brgy. Kayhacat in Santa Maria participated in the said event. Participants were divided into groups in the said barangays and will be provided with the Livelihood Assistance Grant under the Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD. The grant serves as the seed capital fund for their business.

Overall, the seminar received positive feedback from the attendees.
