Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna, through Negosyo Center Santa Maria, in cooperation with the Local Government Unit of Santa Maria, conducted the awarding of gift certificates to 30 beneficiaries of Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) program in Santa Maria, Laguna on Wednesday, 23 March 2022.
The LSP-NSB is a program of DTI which aims to provide a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through its partnership with the local government unit (LGU). One of the objectives is the provision of livelihood kits that contain items that could aid qualified affected individuals to restore and to improve their businesses. Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) beneficiaries may include sole proprietors, cooperatives, and sectoral associations that are located in identified barangays including Local Communist Armed Conflict (LCAC), Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities, stateless persons, and those affected by natural and human-induced calamities.
The said activity was spearheaded by DTI representatives Arnel Magpily and Christian Tungohan. It was also graced and witnessed by two municipal councilors, LGU Chief of Staff, and selected barangay officials. Magpily delivered his message and he emphasized that DTI and Negosyo Center will continuously support MSMEs in growing their businesses through various programs and services.
After the preliminaries, the LSP-NSB beneficiaries signed and stated their pledge of commitment. It was immediately followed by the awarding proper. Lastly, Tungohan gave his closing remarks. He thanked the beneficiaries for their active participation in the program.♦
