The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office, through Negosyo Center Calauan, successfully launched the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program at Barangay Kanluran Conference Hall on 18 May 2022.
DTI Laguna Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Christian Ted Tungohan formally opened the activity and delivered a welcome message. Afterwards, Tungohan discussed the different programs and services of the agency’s two (2) divisions: Business Development Division and Consumer Protection Division. To start, PPG Support Staff Joemarie Valizado gave an overview on what PPG program is all about.
In addition to the PPG overview, a seminar on setting-up a business was facilitated by Senior Business Counselor Jean Kristine Torres. The pros and cons of entrepreneurship were enumerated and Torres then cited the steps or factors to consider in establishing a business. Moreover, Torres reiterated that entrepreneurs must be determined, open-minded, and resilient and to be able to achieve one’s goal, one must have a plan. Torres emphasized that, without a plan, it is just considered a wish.
After the discussion on the rights of every employee, Torres gave a step-by-step process on registering one’s business and gave an overview on Barangay Micro Business Enterprise. DTI Laguna Trade and Industry Development Specialist Maritess Pantua tackled the eight (8) Consumer Rights and five (5) Consumer Responsibilities. The last part of the program was the workshop on Simplified Action Plan.
Valizado had a walkthrough on filling out the form to identify if the entrepreneurs were actually profiting from their businesses.
Positive feedbacks were gathered from the 48 beneficiaries of PPG who attended the training/seminar.♦
