VICTORIA, Laguna – The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) continuously assists Laguna homegrown micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Program.

Aside from Product Development, selected OTOP beneficiaries will undergo intensive Branding Development sessions in the first quarter of 2020.

On 28 January 2020, DTI-Laguna facilitated an assessment-planning and meeting with the selected OTOP beneficiaries as part of the preliminary activities for the OTOP Branding Development project.

OTOP is one of the programs that DTI-Laguna provides to Laguna homegrown MSMEs. As generally defined, it is the government’s assistance to “level-up” the products of MSMEs through Product Development in the areas of design and quality, among others.

Some of the prototypes were already mass-produced and launched during the annual KALAKAL CALABARZON Regional Trade Fair.

The selected OTOP beneficiaries were also Mentee-Graduates of the Kapatid Mentor Micro Enterprise (KMME) Program, a coaching/mentoring program of DTI and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship – Go Negosyo.

To sustain the assistance to them and step up their enterprise level, they were enrolled in the OTOP Program for the year 2020. (DTI-Laguna)♦
