SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — The College of Business Administration and Accountancy of the Laguna State Polytechnic University Santa Cruz Campus held a successful event entitled “Challenges and Opportunities: Business, Innovation, Management, and Education Conference 2”, with the theme “Building Young Professionals towards their Success” on May 5, 2023.

The event was attended by students, faculty members, and invited guests from various industries. The theme of the event centered on building young professionals toward their success.

Two keynote speakers from the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI Laguna), in its aim to provide business information and advocacy to young entrepreneurs, took part in the said event.

Keynote Speaker 1: Mr. Mark Vincent Arasa, DTI Laguna Project Coordinator for the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan, discussed technology-based entrepreneurship and its impact on the business industry. He highlighted the importance of technology in today’s business landscape and how it has transformed the way businesses operate. He emphasized the need for young professionals to embrace technology and use it to their advantage in creating innovative business ideas.

Keynote Speaker 2: Ms. Portia Sophia Cortezano, DTI Laguna Trade and Industry Development Analyst for Negosyo Center Program, tackled the topic on understanding the landscape of social media marketing and innovation. She discussed the relevance of social media in business and how it can be utilized as an effective marketing tool. She emphasized the importance of creating a strong online presence for businesses and how it can help reach a wider audience, most especially start-ups. She also provided the participants with tips on how to develop an effective social media marketing strategy and provided them with examples of innovative trends apparent in the country.
