MABITAC, LAGUNA — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) continues its provision of business advisory services in partnership with other government agencies.

On April 12, 2023, DTI-Laguna through its Negosyo Center Mabitac and in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Local Government Unit of Mabitac conducted a seminar about entrepreneurial mindset and setting-up a business with consumer education held at 3rd Floor, Rooftop Municipal Building, Mabitac, Laguna.

A total of 52 beneficiaries from Brgy. Sinagtala, Brgy. Lambac, Brgy. Lucong, Brgy. Libis and Brgy. Masikap in Mabitac participated in the said event. These beneficiaries were identified by DSWD. Participants were divided into groups per barangay and will be provided with the Livelihood Assistance Grant under the Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD. The grant serves as the seed capital fund for their business.

Moreover, this livelihood program of DSWD aims to improve the beneficiaries’ socioeconomic status and is implemented through a two-track program: Microenterprise Development Track which supports microenterprises in becoming organizationally and economically viable and the Employment Facilitation Track which assists participants to access appropriate employment opportunities.

DTI-Laguna Negosyo Center Business Counsellors Danica Briones and Cris Mark Bermudo, who are assigned in Pangil and Mabitac, respectively, facilitated the abovementioned seminar and provided the participants with entrepreneurial awareness, consumer education, and information on how to start a business.
