City of Santa Rosa, Laguna – The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office, in cooperation with Vista Mall Santa Rosa, unleashes the OTOPasko: Atin ‘To! Grand Provincial Trade Fair on 16 December 2021.
Senior Business Counselor Anne Camille S. Alducente hosted the program. DTI-Laguna Provincial Director Clarke S. Nebrao emphasized the importance of the said activity in preparation for application for license-to-operate permit from Food and Drugs Administration (FDA). He also emphasized that quality must not compromise the safety of any food product from preparation, packaging, and handling.
The said event was graced by distinguished guests, namely: Hon. Cynthia Villar, City Government of Santa Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas, represented by City Administrator Atty. Leonardo Ragaza, Laguna Tourism, Culture, Arts, and Trade Office OIC Ms. Gina Austria, DTI-Regional Operations Group (ROG) Asec. Dominic Tolentino, DTI-Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) Dir. Christopher Arnuco, DTI-4A Regional Director (RD) Marilou Q. Toledo, DTI-Laguna Provincial Directory (PD) Clarke Nebrao, DTI Office of the Secretary consultants, Jorge Wieneke and Jenny Wieneke, Danzel Fernandez. Also, the provincial directors from the other CALABARZON provinces also showed their support. Further, relevant stakeholders were able to witness the opening of the said trade fair with the entrepreneurs who were part of the 2021 Batch for the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Next Gen Program.
As part of trade promotions and marketing activities, DTI Laguna, in partnership with the City Government of Santa Rosa and the Vista Mall Santa Rosa, implemented the Grand OTOP Provincial Trade Fair with the theme: “OTOPasko: Atin ‘To!” on 16 – 19 December 2021 at Vista Mall Santa Rosa. The grand trade fair gathered the best and champion products of Laguna, from food products, wearables, handicrafts, and wellness products. A total of thirty-two (32) MSMEs assisted under the OTOP Next Gen Program proudly showcased the products and prototypes developed under the OTOP Next Gen Product Development from Batch 2017 to 2021.
The opening program and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last 16 December 2021 at Vista Mall Santa Rosa. The said activity is the embodiment of the message said by Hon. Villar which goes by: “I believe that entrepreneurship is the key to economic freedom”. In connection, this aims to expose the MSMEs in the local market and expand their businesses in order to achieve a more progressive Philippine economy. ♦
