PASAY CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon conducted a Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Program (CFIDP) Exploratory Meeting with Coconut Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises at IFEX Philippines in Pasay City, facilitated by Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma, Trade and Industry Specialist Honeylee O. Eclavea, and CFIDP Coordinator Dara Jannes C. Obmerga

IFEX Philippines is the country’s biggest international trade show for food and ingredients. The DTI Quezon team and MSMEs first witnessed the opening ceremony of IFEX Philippines.

Afterward, the DTI Quezon team and coconut MSMEs met with the coconut food exhibitors, among them AgriNurture, Inc., Markdak Export, Lipa Fine Products, Andy Albao of CocoWonder, TBH Industries, Coco Natura, GreenPak, Pasciolco AgriVentures, Inc., Tongsan, and other companies.

After meeting these suppliers, the Quezon MSMEs suggested that DTI facilitate a meeting with some of the companies that they have talked to for possible tie-ups with them. Some of the companies that they are interested in meeting are AgriNurture, Inc., Markdak Export, Lipa Fine Products, Andy Albao of CocoWonder, and Tongsan.

The meeting involved coconut food MSMEs such as Sama-Sama sa Kaunlaran MPC, Mikastra Integrated Farm, Ating Kooperatiba Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Samonte’s Agricultural Products, SICAP Atimonan, Alabat Island Farmers Producers Cooperative, Alabat VCO Association, Our Lady of the Angels Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Tagkawayan Weavers Marketing Cooperative, Tagkawayan Vendors Multi-Purpose Cooperative, W.L. Montealto Enterprises, Yakap at Halik Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Kapatiran MSK ng Concepcion Banahaw Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Pagbilao Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, SAMAWIN, PACSEDU, Lopez Coconut Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, and UNI-QUE Agricultural Cooperative.
