The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon Provincial Office conducted orientations on the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Program and Profiling of pre-identified beneficiaries in different municipalities of Quezon. The covered municipalities are Sariaya (1 April), Lucban (8 April), Dolores and Catanauan (19 April), General Luna and Macalelon (21 April), Atimonan (22 April), and Plaridel (25 April). The DTI-PPG Program is a microenterprise livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program that prioritizes areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities, such as armed conflicts and health disasters like the COVID-19. It is a post-disaster response mechanism that aims to accelerate the recovery of affected businesses and communities by giving them livelihood assistance and entrepreneurship programs.

During the activity, the participants were oriented on the PPG Program and how it will help them to continue to operate their business after the devastating calamity/pandemic incidents. Various DTI programs and services were also tackled. After the discussion, eligible beneficiaries completed the Client Profile Form, Simplified Action Plan, and Pledge of Commitment as part of the program. They also submitted their Business Name Registration and Barangay Business Permit or Mayor’s Permit as requirements.

Eligible beneficiaries will receive livelihood kits worth PHP8,000 in the form of actual goods depending on their line of business. Seminars will also be provided for them that will help to stimulate their business, not only in financial and capital terms, but also to cultivate and develop their entrepreneurial mindset.

The orientation and profiling activities were facilitated by PPG Focal Person, Mr. Patrick Acesor, PPG staff, Mr. John Mark Ricaro, Ms. Marianne Marie Adornado, and Mr. Marc Lester Ibañez. This was done through the coordination with Negosyo Center Business Counselors and also supported by the local government units (LGUs) of the respective municipalities.

It was ensured that minimum health standard protocols were observed for the safety of everybody all throughout the events.♦
