SARIAYA, QUEZON — On June 21, 2023, DTI Quezon conducted a meeting and visit to Coco Coir MSMEs in Sariaya and Candelaria, Quezon for the implementation of CFIDP project for Coconut Non-Food MSMEs.

The DTI team, composed of Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist (STIDS) Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma, CFIDP Project Coordinator Dara Jannes C. Obmerga and SSF Support Staff Chelsea Ann Canales, met Mr. Arnaldo R. Bacay of AGB Coco Coir and Ms. Amelia Sazon Labitigan of Sazon Coco Fiber Industries in Brgy. Manggalang 1, Sariaya, Quezon.

STIDS Ledesma and Obmerga explained to them the overview of the CFIDP project and the lined-up activities in which they can be assisted. Mr. Bacay shared their market and business registration status. Afterward, the team visited the Sazon’s coco coir processing facility and collected information about their business for profiling purposes.

After going to Sariaya, Quezon, DTI Quezon went to Ecoden Nature Farm in Brgy. San Andres, Candelaria, Quezon. They met Mr. Monray Allen G. Bilon. Their products were coco coir planters, coco peat, and bunot. STIDS Ledesma and Obmerga, again, shared the background about the CFIDP project and interviewed Mr. Bilon on their status of business and market. Possible projects they can be involved in are product development and capacity building training of the CFIDP starting July 2023.
