Food Industry Module: Pricing and Costing

Held last Wednesday, 11 May 2022 via Zoom Application and Facebook Live, the Collaborative Harnessing Assistance and Mentoring for SMEs (CHAMPS) Season 3 Pricing and Costing Webinar for Food Industry in the Province of Rizal.  DTI Rizal Business Development Division Chief, Sharon F. Dioco welcomed the participants to the program which main objective is to help micro entrepreneurs in preparing to a more extensive DTI Programs like Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) and One Town, One Product (OTOP).

Chef Fiona C. Flores, a multi-awarded chef and a co-founder of Philippine Academy for Culinary Education (PACE) was the webinar’s resource speaker. She presented the importance of counting cost and the difference between fixed, variable and food cost as costs involved in running a food business. She also discussed the challenges in minimizing food costs, achieving affordable and quality product, food costing tools, recipe costing sheet, and likewise shared tips on reducing food costs and provided examples on proper food cost calculation.

The webinar organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Rizal and facilitated by Negosyo Center Morong Business Counselor Elaine Suazo was participated by the CHAMPS Beneficiaries and potential and existing entrepreneurs in Rizal.♦
