The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Rizal Provincial Office, in partnership with the Philippine Trade Training Center-Global MSME Academy (PTTC-GMEA), the Department of Tourism-CALABARZON, and the Local Government of Tanay, Rizal, collaborated to host a two-day training program for the Food Industry Sector located in Tanay, Rizal upland area, held from 31 June 2022, to 2 July 2022, at the Tanay Municipal Extension Office. The training program aims to uplift the food service and assess the capability of MSMEs to start a farm enterprise along the scenic ridge of Tanay. It was comprised of two parts, including Punla and Kita. This was also graced by the Honorable Mayor Rex Manuel Tanjuatco and PTTC Executive Director Nelly Nita Dillera.
Part 1 of the program happened on the first day of the training. Mr. Kenneth Caoile De Garcia, DOT-CALABARZON, discussed the topics of “planting” the seed of fun farm tourism through the awareness seminar on the Filipino brand of service and tourism accreditation.
The second day of training serves as part 2 of the program about “earning” the seed. Ms. Maricris Cura from PTTC-GMEA presented the Filipino food trends as the first topic, followed by Ms. Jezel Sunga from PTTC-GMEA, who explained the food safety measures as needed in the participant’s daily operation. Mr. George Gozon from PTTC-GMEA shared practical tips on how MSMEs could monitor and manage their financial transactions, especially during this time of crisis. Lastly, Mr. Aryan F. Llamasares, Negosyo Center Tanay (Sampaloc) Business Counselor, DTI-Rizal, identified the business requirements that the MSMEs are compliant with. He also explained the other DTI services, such as BMBE, KMME, OTOP, P3, and Negosyo Center Services, like business name registration.
The two-day training was attended by 30 MSMEs from the Food Sector of Upland Tanay. ♦
